My recent experience with Dr. Heather Miller was, as always, excellent. She is so dedicated to her patients that she came back to see me after her office was closed and never rushed through the eye exam. Dr. Miller diagnosed my problem and quickly procured the medication needed.
Heather Miller of Bright Eyes Vision is excellent. The eye doctor is an important facet of a person’s overall health. The eyes can tell a lot. Heather explains that and does and is terrific in communicating the “why’s and what for’s”. HIGHLY recommended!
The Staff (a mother and daughter business) are very pleasant. This is the first time I ever had one pair of glasses last more than 2 yrs. Dr. Miller goes through a very thorough exam during every checkup. When she customized my bifocals (blended so no one notices), I immediately noticed a difference! My last check showed a slight change, and I believe it’s results of Dr. Miller’s examination. No more headaches every 2 yrs from previous eye glasses. I highly recommend her expertise!
I was very comfortable in the lobby and treatment rooms. Both Drs Heather & Sue Miller are very welcoming, experienced, and knowledgeable about the health & wellness of our eyes & how it is part of the whole body ecosystem. I highly recommend this practice!
Dr. Miller was fantastic. She explained everything to me and made me feel comfortable since I have not been to an eye doctor in years. I highly recommend Dr Miller and her staff.
A large part of the examination is finding out what the patient is experiencing and determining the type of dry eye causing the symptoms. We examine the surface of the eye under a microscope to look at the quantity and the quality of the tear film. Additionally, we examine the eyelids and the glands inside the eyelids to insure they are healthy.
There are a wide range of treatments ranging from over the counter products to specialty laser procedures. Many times using artificial tears and vitamin supplements can help boost the tear film. There are prescription eye drops that can aid in tear production as well as laser procedures for patients with more advanced dry eye.
Of course – stay hydrated and making sure you consume enough water each day. Additionally, take breaks from your computer and smart phone. I recommend the 20/20/20 Rule – take a 20 second break every 20 minutes and look 20 feet away and blink your eyes. Finally, wearing sunglasses is critical to protecting the surface of the eye and the eyelids from UV exposure.
